The Arabic name for Angetenar is 'Arjat an-Nahr, "Curve of the River" or "the Bend in the River" near which it lies.

Angetenar, Argentenar, Anchenetenar,Al Hinayat al Nahr, Al Anchat al Nahr were other titles (Allen).

Influence of the constellaion :
